An intriguing combination indeed – but given that we spend a third of our lives asleep, something indeed to be philosophical about! And what better time to think about sleep than in deepest darkest winter? Whilst January brings the lighter evenings and the promise of Spring in the air, we’re all still hunkering down, cosy evenings on the sofa, lighting candles and lining up the best of the box sets – and thinking of sleep! Is it any wonder then that January tends to be the time that the shops are flooded with fresh new bed linen and towels. Indulgent bed linen is where we’re at, and we’re delighted to welcome beautiful French linen company, Bed and Philosophy to The English Listed.
We’ve long admired Bed and Philosophy’s beautifully muted colour palette and the extremely fine quality of their linen. Hailing from Toulouse in the south of France, the company is renowned in the art of sleep, relaxation and well-being. In 2009, founder, Sonia Provost decided to design bedding that exudes effortless charm, that is relaxed and comforting, but also has great style credentials. Bed and Philosophy tucks us in with linen that has been responsibly produced. Little finishing details like the mother-of-pearl buttons to close the duvet cover, as well as subtle silkscreen printed messages, help give you a sense of well-being.
With prices ranging from £27.00, the range comprises pillowcases in varying designs, duvet covers in shades of white, grey and carbon and beautiful pre-crinkled linen throws. We even have sweet little linen tea towels in kilner jars.
See the collection in store now and in our online store– and make the thought of going to bed especially inviting with this wonderfully relaxed-looking bed linen.
