Jeremy Andrews is best known as a portrait artist exploring self-image and has exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery, London, The Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh and The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, London. He also produces a variety of landscape and animal still life.
Using traditional techniques, Andrews creates bold pieces, recreating what he sees before him in impressive detail. His portraits invite the viewer to consider the voyeuristic nature of our society.
Andrews works to commission, and his sitters have included Omer Koc, Lord Dennis Healey, Lord Levy and contemporary artist Franko B, whose portrait was selected for the BP Portrait Award in 2007. He has recently completed a major commission for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, which can be seen in the College’s London headquarters at Lincoln’s Inn Fields.
